What if an Asteroid hit Los Angeles? Yes, this may be the lead in to a joke about Southern California, but it is also a question that many scientists are seriously pondering. Over it’s history the earth has sustained impacts from large asteroids at fairly regular intervals (around every 800 years). If any of these hit in a dense-urban area, the results would be apocalyptic.
