War with Iran and Human Rights

Over the last year, we have focused on issues around Iran as part of our One Book, One College program on Between Two Worlds. I wanted to send along two pieces of info focusing on Iran. First, the library will be hosting a lecture featuring Elise Auerbach, Amnesty International’s Iran Specialist, who will discuss the current state of human rights in Iran which will be held on Thursday, April 19th, 12:30pm-1:30pm, Library Lounge, Building L. Second, as context to this discussion, check out this On the Media piece:

RUMBLINGS OF WAR WITH IRAN: The prospect of attacking Iran is making its way back into the media and political discourse, despite the fact that national security experts think a pre-emptive strike would be a bad idea. Brooke speaks to New York Times reporter Scott Shane about why talk of war is on the rise.
