It was exciting to see Moraine Valley’s theater department get a write up on the Tribune’s site. This weekend (Thursday, July 31-Saturday, Aug. 2, 2014), MVCC’s theater department will perform William Shakespeare’s Measure for Measure (free admission starting at 7pm at the Outdoors at the Gateway). Tribune: Gender swaps allow for fresh look at play
Moraine Valley Community College’s Theater Department has students and others cross-dressing in the latest production of “Shakespeare Under the Stars.”
Starring a woman as a lord and a man as a nun, “Measure for Measure” will be staged outdoors Thursday through Saturdayfor the 11th anniversary of the series. Admission is free and attendees are invited to bring picnic dinners, blankets and lawn chairs.
Performances will be at 7 p.m. each night at the college, 9000 W. College Parkway in Palos Hills, near the Gateway Arch. Bathrooms and vending machines are located nearby inside the Fine and Performing Arts Center…(read entire story here)
