Remembering Dave Brubeck and Take Five

This week we mark the passing of a jazz break, Dave Brubeck. You can find his most famous album, Time out by the Dave Brubeck Quartet
, in the library’s collection.

The song “Take Five” which is on this album may be his most famous (see YouTube video below). This song has an irregular structure with 5 beats per measure (see The Anthropological Reason It Feels Weird to Dance to Brubeck’s ‘Take Five’). Try to tap your foot to it and see what happens!
