Are you thinking of attending one of the Global & Diversity Education Events this fall?  If you want some more information about the event topics check out some of these books from the Moraine Valley Library.

  1. Global Trends Across Disciplines: 9/17: Moraine Room 2:30-3:30 Moraine Valley faculty members discuss the ways in which globalization forces are currently impacting their fields.
  2. Global Elections: Examining Key Elections in 2012: 10/18: Library 11:00-12:15 This event will discuss the varying electoral rules that structure elections  throughout the world and the potential implications of the results of such contests for the U.S. and world.
  3. Invisible Children 11/5: 10:00-12:00 pm Moraine Room 2 A viewing of the documentary film: Invisible Children.
  4. International Student panel: 11/14: 2:30-3:30 Library This panel discussion will consist of students from at least 5 different countries who will share what it is like to study abroad in the U.S. and be an international student at Moraine Valley.
  5. Global Food Security and Sustainability: 12/4: 10:30-12:30 Moraine Room 2 Rising prices of commodities, such as wheat, corn, rice, and gasoline can lead to many problems, including: riots, hunger, malnutrition, and poverty.
