Happy International Education Week!! This week (November 12 – 16, 2012) the US State Department and Colleges around the country take a moment to recognize the value of studying abroad. US students study in foreign countries, and students from around the world come to the US to study. In fact, the US is the #1 destination for students studying abroad with over 764,495 international students studying in the US. Moraine Valley welcomes nearly 300 international students from 52 different countries each year through our International Student Affairs office.
Our library will be hosting an event, International Student Panel Discussion, as part of our campus’ celebration of International Education week. This panel will feature students from various countries who are studying at MVCC. It will be Wednesday, November 14, 2:30 pm – 3:30 pm and is sponsored by MVCC Global Education.
Don’t forget that our library collects many resources for the study of English, which is often the goal of many international students. We also collect high interest, low vocabulary books which are useful for non-native English speakers.
