Today, I’m bringing you a little something different (and new!) from the collection below. Red Cartoons is a collection of sixteen former East Germany animated films produced from 1974-1990. If you would like a glimpse of what former East German social and political satire look like, this is your chance! Also included in the DVD is a behind-the-scenes look at DEFA animation studio (the studio in charge of producing the cartoons), biographies, and filmographies.
This film is also a great option for those trying to learn German! They are in German with English subtitles, so you can follow along with the dialog.
