The south side of Chicago was featured in last week’s blog. I decided to have Week 3 stay on the south side and explore three more museums.
DuSable Museum of African American History @ 740 East 56th Street, Chicago
“DuSable is the nation’s oldest museum dedicated to the exploration, documentation, and celebration of the African American experience.”
The Museum of Science and Industry @ 5700 So. Lake Shore Drive, Chicago
“Since 1933, this enormous museum has been dedicated to educating the public about science and technology. From the coal mine exhibit with a working elevator to the captured German World War II submarine, the museum’s collections and hands-on exhibits seem almost endless.”
The Oriental Institute of the University of Chicago @ 1155 East 58th Street, Chicago
“The Oriental Institute Museum is a showcase of the history, art and archaeology of the ancient Near East.”
