The library has a new resource, the New York Times Site Pass. To access this resource, please use the URL below:

1.After you authenticate (if off-campus), you will be prompted to create an individual user login.

2. When creating an individual user account, use your Moraine Valley email address.

3. After you create an individual account, you can now use that login to access the New York Times website and the New York Times App (Google Play, Apple Store) with the individual account you created.

The library now has access to EDZTER. EDZTER is a digital magazine database which holds over 5000+ digital magazines both foreign and domestic. Experience a digital reading library that offers students and faculty unlimited access to thousands of magazines, newspapers and journals across 40+ categories and 60+ languages. Patrons can enjoy access by desktop or through apps in the Google Play or Apple Store.

1. Download the app on the Google Play or Apple Store.
2. Once installed, click on “do you have an access code?”
3. Provide your Moraine Valley email address and press submit
4. You will be sent at 4-digit OTP code sent to your Moraine Valley email address. Enter that 4-digit code into the app and press submit
5. You will then be presented a screen to “redeem your access code”. Enter the following access code:  MVCCLUSEDZTER and press submit
6. Enjoy Reading!!!

The library now has access to ScienceDirect, one of the largest, highly-regarded, full-text online and comprehensive science databases. ScienceDirect is split into three main sections: Health & Life Sciences, Physical Sciences & Engineering, and Social & Behavioral Sciences. ScienceDirect hosts over 16 million articles and over 3500+ journals covering engineering, chemistry, earth & planetary, medicine, agriculture, and more!

ScienceDirect is accessible through this direct link, the library’s database page and the library catalog.

The Ebsco database is”officially” resolved, as confirmation was received from vendor. If you have any questions, please ask a librarian.

We have received reports of an issue with Latency and Service Unavailable Error with our EBSCOhost Research Databases, Full Text Finder and EBSCO eBooks collections.  Users noticed slow access or no access to these services whether you are on or off-campus. The Moraine Valley library is currently working with EBSCO to resolve these issues. This post will be updated with new information as we get it. If you have any questions, please ask a librarian.

The following databases will be inaccessible on Saturday, January 30^th from 9PM until Sunday January 31^st at 6AM. This is because these databases will be undergoing maintenance. The following databases will be effected:

• Chicago Tribune
• Chicago Tribune Historical
• New York Times
• New York Times Historical
• US Major Dailies
• Nursing and Allied Health
• Washington Post
• Wall Street Journal
• Criminal Justice Periodical Index
• History Study Center

This is may also affect our Alexander Street Press databases but this is unclear at this time. If you have any questions please ask a librarian.

One of our vendors, EBSCO, provides the library with database subscriptions. Currently, our EBSCO databases are experiencing intermittent access issues. Users are experiencing slow response times or timeouts. In some instances, users are unable to access these databases at all. The following databases are effected:
