Growing up I would occasionally see a television spot on MTV advocating the release of Burmese political prisoner and Nobel Peace Prize winner Aung San Suu Kyi.
Imprisoned for 15 of the last 21 years, Suu Kyi was released for the final time in 2010. Now in 2012 she has been elected to the Parliament of Burma.
Currently she is traveling for the first time through Europe to, among other things, finally receive her Nobel Prize in person and visit the grave of her deceased husband who died in 1999.
